An Invitation to Authors
I think we all have at least one book in us waiting patiently to get out! Your first step is to write it. Most of us never get past this step. Once you have a completed manuscript you are an Author. An unpublished Author but an Author none the less.
Today, because of technology there are many low cost options for the Author to take their manuscript to the published book stage. At this stage they can promote it and as sales occur they can actually obtain some revenue from all that work that went into it.
Publishing is in transition these days. We still have traditional publishers, vanity publishers, self publishers and now electronic publishers. It can get very confusing. At one point there were clear distinctions between the Author and Publisher and each had their assigned jobs to do. Based on that there was an established royalty sharing between both parties. But now things have really changed. It's entirely possible for you the Author to do all the work yourself and become a publisher too.
